It started with something simple: a photograph of my own eye. A self-portrait. From there, I began digging into the image, searching the colors, shadows, shapes, and textures to see what might be hiding underneath.
This was my first real journey into pareidolia finding pictures within pictures and allowing the flow state to take control instead of deciding beforehand what the artwork needed to become.
The theme became:
“Thumbnails From Lack of Knowledge.”
Don’t know what you’re looking for. Just start looking.
From that single starting point came strange worlds filled with light bulbs in the seas, textures from my dreams, submarines, monsters, attack mounted drones, spiders, wasteland warriors, machines, and pain.
One image became another. Then another.
Pictures inside pictures inside pictures.
These are the first ten pieces from that journey, but they were only the beginning. Looking back at them now, I can see ideas and techniques that would continue evolving through my artwork for years.
So come along as we go back to 2016 and step into the Akashic Stream for the first time.
