6 Paintings in 7 Days – Day 6
Today started a little differently.
The motivation wasn’t there.
After several long days of painting, I could feel myself running on fumes, so I decided to step away from the easel for a bit. Sometimes the best thing you can do is recharge. For me, that meant jumping into a few rounds of Overwatch. Junkrat and D.Va carried the day, a few victories later, and it was enough to clear my head.
Then it was back to work.
The details started coming together.
Dog Hearts Treats is almost finished. Just a few final touches remain before I can call it complete.
The Pelican is officially done. The only thing left now is giving it a name.
Fort Myers Wave is nearly there as well. I just want to add a little more motion and atmosphere, maybe some motion blur effects to really sell the energy of the water.
The rooster also got a major update today—and a practical one.
Originally, I planned to render an entire tree line behind him, but with the finish line this close, I had to make an executive decision. The trees are out. The rooster is headed to the beach. Sometimes finishing a painting isn’t about adding more—it’s about knowing what you can leave out while still telling the story.
Now the finish line is staring me in the face.
Tomorrow’s priorities are clear:
Finish Fort Myers Wave.
Finish the most interesting dog.
Finish the rooster.
Finish the dogs fighting.
Finish the bear.
One day remains.
The plan is set. The canvases know what’s coming. Now it’s just a matter of putting in the work and seeing if I can bring all six paintings across the finish line.
