Painting Elvira Mistress of the Dark

Elvira, mistress of the dark, has a special place in my heart. Having grown up in the late eighties and early nineties she had a profound impact on a developing young mind. She was all over the place and had a major influence on pop culture. She introduced the mainstream to the undercurrent of Goth culture that had been macerating below the current. She revived the horror movie host that started with Vampira in the 60s. Thanks, Elvira for being the gateway to fun and debauchery. Elvira taught us that it is ok to be different. Years ago when doing digital art, I decided to start doing portraits. In the middle of the night my eyes shot open and couldn’t stop thinking about painting Elvira. So I did a painting in Photoshop. Many moons later I became a canvas artist. This year at Dark Arts at the Sidney and Burne Davis Art Center, I thought it time to revisit Elvira Mistress of The Dark. Since then the Art has gotten serious. I was voted in to be a member of The Union Artist Studio. Now our work has more visibility. I decided to start a Patreon so we can share knowledge around the creative campfire. I’ve been working on tutorials and other tricks of the trade. As a thank you to the Top contributor I’ll be giving away Elvira this year in November. This is the only way to obtain this original work. There will be no prints of this piece and the original will be the only one. So don’t miss the opportunity to be gifted Elvira Mistress of the Dark by JG BAM. More exciting stuff to come so follow the socials. Don’t forget to be the best you that you can be. Love you guys, later later.
